CAMAG – Advanced HPTLC Solutions for the Analysis of Complex Samples

HPTLC – The other high-performance chromatography

  • Visual evaluation and flexible use
  • Multiple detection of separated analytes
  • Reproducible analysis and reliable quantification and more

HPTLC is a versatile and powerful analytical technique used in various fields for its efficiency, accuracy, and ability to handle complex samples, commonly employed for the separation, identification, and quantification of components in complex matrices.

CAMAG’s advanced HPTLC solutions enable the simultaneous analysis of multiple samples on a single plate, greatly enhancing throughput and decreasing analysis time.

HPTLC offers great separation and detection capabilities, making it possible to detect low concentrations of analytes.

HPTLC delivers precise, efficient, and cost-effective analysis across diverse applications.

CAMAG – Advanced HPTLC Solutions

Identification of botanicals is a very complicated process. The standard tools in the industry to identify materials typically cannot be used to identify botanicals, because with botanicals you are dealing with a species, a genus and even down to a plant part. In order for the product to be efficacious, we have to make sure that we have the proper genus, the proper species and the proper plant part. So one of the only methods in the industry that can test down to that level in detail is TLC, or in our case we’ve invested in the High-Performance TLC machine and that is what we use to identify botanicals.

CAMAG® HPTLC PRO

01

System mode

If two or more modules are connected to form a system, a conveyor moves the HPTLC plate from one Module to the other, eliminating manual intervention between individual process steps.

02

Stand-alone operation

When operated as stand-alone, the HPTLC plate is inserted on the left side and ejected on the right side after processing.

HPTLC PRO Module Application

HPTLC PRO Module APPLICATION

The samples are applied as bands onto the HPTLC glass plate (20 x 10 cm) with the HPTLC PRO Module APPLICATION. Up to 75 samples can be applied autonomously. Precision of the applied volume, exact positioning and sharpness of applied zones determine the quality of the final result.

  • Autonomous application of up to 75 samples
  • Optimized spraying procedure adapted for each sample solvent
  • Software-controlled by visionCATS
NEW
HPTLC PRO Module Development

HPTLC PRO Module DEVELOPMENT

The HPTLC PRO Module DEVELOPMENT, using HPTLC glass plates (20 x 10 cm), operates completely autonomously. The activity of the stationary phase can be adjusted, and the gas phase can be actively circulated during development, allowing a better separation of the analytes.

  • Development of up to 5 HPTLC plates (20 x 10 cm)
  • Support of up to 3 different developing solvents
  • HPTLC glass plates (20 x 10 cm)
NEW
HPTLC PRO Module Derivatization

HPTLC PRO Module DERIVATIZATION

Substances without chromophores or fluorophores can be visualized by automated spraying of specific reagents onto the HPTLC glass plates (20 x 10 cm) with the HPTLC PRO Module DERIVATIZATION, controlled by visionCATS HPTLC Software. The module features an integrated plate heating unit.

  • High-precision spraying of derivatization reagents
  • Integrated plate heating unit
  • Handling of two different derivatization reagents
Launch in 2025
HPTLC PRO Module DETECTION

HPTLC PRO Module DETECTION

Hyperspectral data, acquired with the HPTLC PRO Module DETECTION, are used to characterize and quantify all analytes. They are obtained by using polychromatic light for excitation together with an imaging spectrometer. The HPTLC Software visionCATS is used for data evaluation.

  • Excitation with Xenon
  • Detection range from 200 – 830 nm
  • Absorbance and fluorescence measurement
Launch in 2025
HPTLC PRO Module MS-INTERFACE

HPTLC PRO Module MS-INTERFACE

HPTLC-MS coupling allows for verification of the chemical structure of analytes by Mass Spectrometry or offline collection for further analysis. Any position on the plate can be selected via the HPTLC Software visionCATS to be automatically eluted with the HPTLC PRO Module MS-INTERFACE.

  • Automated positioning of the elution head
  • Optimal cleaning procedure between elutions
  • Integrated elution pump
