A sensitive HPTLC-EDA method using a 4-MU fluorescent probe for AChE inhibitor screening
This study, conducted by researchers at Université Clermont Auvergne (ICCF, CNRS, France), presents a new HPTLC-EDA method using a 4-methylumbelliferone (4-MU) fluorogenic probe for sensitive screening of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitors. The method provides over threefold higher sensitivity, fewer artefacts, and improved detection of bioactive compounds in complex natural extracts, offering a simple and reliable tool for bioactivity screening.
